ABOUT US
Medical Practice
The Society of Medical Radiographers (SRM) has proudly been the principal non-profit organisation in Malta representing all medical radiographers working locally for more than 20 years! Since its foundation, the SRM has always worked hard to pursue its mission: To promote and advance the radiography and radiotherapy profession in Malta through continuous education, specialisation and networking.
The SRM has always held the best interests of local radiographers at heart and over the years the SRM has participated in national and international discussions and debates to ensure that the radiography profession is safeguarded and to encourage further development within the profession itself.
The SRM is a proud member of the Malta Federation of Professional Associations (MFPA) and the European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS) and International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT). The SRM is also part of the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) RTT Alliance. These memberships allow the SRM to have a say on a National, European and International level, so whenever there is a need the SRM can voice its concerns or suggestions with the support of other radiographer societies and professional associations.

The SRM is currently registered under the Voluntary Organisation Act, which allows SRM to make use of National and EU funds for the training and development of local radiographers.
The SRM cannot maintain progress in all activities without the support and energy of its members. Therefore while we would like to take the opportunity to thank all our esteemed members, we would also like to invite more radiographers to join us so that together we can further develop radiography and medical imaging and radiotherapy - not only for the advancement of our profession but more and more, for the benefit of our patients!
Mission Statement
To promote and advance the radiography and radiotherapy profession in Malta through continuous education, specialization and networking.
Our Strategy
It is our conviction that the SRM can help improve and advance the radiography, medical imaging and radiotherapy services provided by radiographers locally. For this reason, the SRM will strive to provide continuous learning opportunities for radiographers to learn and develop professionally. Furthermore, the SRM will work hard to raise awareness, facilitate interdisciplinary communication and networking, as well as promote and support compliance to professional standards and regulations.
